PURPOSE:The Workshop Foreman is responsible for maximizing service sales and profitability by creating customer confidence in the Dealership by providing quality service. He/she needs to ensure that a “fix right first time” standard is maintained by effectively supervising and motivating workshop staff to obtain maximum productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction. When taking over and transferring tasks and responsibilities, it is essential to ensure that all information is received and explained directly from the Service Advisor in as detailed a manner as possible, so that subsequent steps in the process can be carried out in the best way possible.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:• Distribute workload effectively and efficiently• Ensure that work is completed properly and on time • Monitor all work• Control staff timekeeping• Assist Technicians• Ensure a productive and efficient working environment• Test drive vehicles• Handle Customer complaints• Ensure consistent high-quality work for all services and repairs• Assist with diagnosis regarding customer problems • Analyse comebacks• Supervise staff using motivation, assistance and discipline• Attend to warranty claims• Ensure good housekeeping• Ensure that safety measures are instituted and followed• Ensure healthy and safe working environment standards are adhered to by all staff• Ensure that workshop policies and procedures are adhered to• Assist Manager and replace Manager if he / she is not available• Assist Control, reception and administration• Monitor quotations• Assist Service Advisors with reception processes to maintain a stable work in progress (WIP)• Perform any other reasonable duties which may be required from time to time

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:• Must have a minimum of Grade 12 + relevant Trade certification• Diagnostic or Master Certification in Motor Mechanic will be an added advantange• Must have a valid driver’s license• Must have Leadership and Time Management skills• Technical Diagnostic Skills and relevant qualification• Problem solving• Team work and motivation• Effective Communication• Attention to detail
