Our client has a vacancy for a Production Foreman for their vehicle refurbishment engineering plant in Sandton, looking for candidates with foreman experience in a refurbishment or production or manufacturing environment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
The ideal applicant will possess the following:-- Matric or equivalent technical qualification
- Trade Test Certificate as Diesel Mechanic or Diesel Fitter.
- 5 – 8 Years working experience in an Automotive Engineering Workshop environment.
- Experience refurbishment of Engines, Gearboxes, Axles, Air Brake Valves, Compressors, Starters, Alternators and General Engineering.
JOB OUTPUTS
- Assume the responsibility of providing engineering services to other sections of the factory;
- Liaise with Stores to procure spares, raw materials, and components required to refurbish automotive components.
- Plan and monitor daily production and quality control.
- Assume line responsibility of managing staff at his or her sections. These will include managing and monitoring of leave, absenteeism, staff development, training and disciplinary.
- Participate in the implementation of Production Management Systems such as ISO 9001 QMS, ISO 14001 EMS, ISO 18001 Health & Safety Management System, and others;
- Act as Internal Consultant or an Expert in perform fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of the units at the section;
- Assist the Technical Manager in developing workflow process sheets, work instructions, and work procedures;
- Manage warranties and after-sales activities for units produced.
- Responsible for calibrating of all tools used at the section.
- Promote and maintain healthy customer relationships.
- Resolve customer queries.

Job Description Reporting to the Service Manager, this position requires someone who will ensure Customer Satisfaction in the service and repair of motor vehicles in a safe and economical manner
Specific Role Responsibilities; • Repair / service vehicles according to instructions in job cards and in terms of manufacturer’s specifications.
o Service and Maintain the following: Assemble, dismantle, fit, inspect, install, remove and repair mechanical systems, components or sub-components Inspect, replace and top-up vehicle system fluids o Report to Control any additional work required on the vehicle o Report to Control if vehicle will not be ready on time o Obtain authorization before ordering parts, outwork, etc. from Service Advisor and Foreman o Ensure that the daily time ticket and the full story is entered in the job card o Delegate work to helpers / RSAs and check it o Interpret and implement technical service instruction data o Take good care of customer’s car and contents o Ensure that seats covers and floor mats are in the customer vehicles that have been worked on o Train on-the-job and control Apprentices o Ensure up-to-date knowledge of products o Attend manufacturer sponsored courses o Keep work area clean and tidy o Keep all Company tools and plant clean and in good order o Use protective covers on vehicles o Attend safety meetings o Keep own overalls clean and tidy o Sign out and in special tools and materials and ensure that they are used correctly o Assist with the reception and delivery of goods o Perform any other duty which may be required from time to time
